Disruption on the trains as half of Waterloo shuts this weekend

6:00am 13th October 2017
(Updated 8:46am 13th October 2017)

Trains to and from Waterloo face disruption this weekend.

Half of London Waterloo station will be shut this weekend, as work continues on the Waterloo and South West Upgrade project.

Lines between Clapham Junction and Waterloo are being worked on, causing disruption to a range of services coming in and out of both stations.

A reduced service will run in and out of Waterloo on the lines which remain open, with most services running to a revised timetable and many trains leaving from different platforms to normal.

Trains in and out of the station may also make additional stops or use different routes with longer journey times.

The following alterations will take place over the two days:

Saturday service

  • Stopping services to Haslemere will not run. Please use other altered train services.
  • Trains will run between Wimbledon and Guildford via Epsom.
  • Trains will run between Wimbledon and Chessington South.
  • Shuttle train services will run between Surbiton and Hampton Court / Guildford via Cobham.
  • There will be no South Western Railway service between London Waterloo and Dorking. You may use Southern services, changing at Epsom or Clapham Junction.

Sunday service

  • Trains will run between Wimbledon and Dorking, also between Wimbledon and Guildford via Epsom.
  • Trains will run between Wimbledon and Chessington.
  • Shuttle train services will run between Surbiton and Hampton Court / Guildford via Cobham.
