Van bursts into flames on A3 southbound

A3 fire

8:27pm 19th May 2017
(Updated 12:29am 20th May 2017)

The A3 was partially blocked on Friday (May 19) evening, after a van burst into flames.

It happened on the southbound side before the A31 Farnham Road (Hogs Back).

The incident caused delays for drivers, with very slow traffic in the area as a result.

Surrey Fire and Rescue tweeted to say they are struggling to make it towards the vehicle.

Both lanes were closed for around two hours.

Highways England said all lanes reopened at around 10.30pm, with traffic back to normal.
