Gritters out in force overnight into the first day of Spring

gritters

5:19pm 20th March 2017
(Updated 5:20pm 20th March 2017)

Tomorrow may be the first day of Spring (March 21) - but it is about to feel very cold again.

So cold in fact, you may spot a gritter out on the roads tonight.

It is as temperatures are set to drop overnight.

We could feel lows of 2C and even see sleet.

Hampshire Highways teams are reminding drivers using the roads late into the evening, and early in the morning to take extra care.

From 9pm tonight crews will be out salting the roads.

It says road surface temperatures are dropping across Northern and Central areas of Hampshire.

Be sure to warm up the car and leave extra time.
