Cyclist taken to hospital by air ambulance after Pirbright collision

A cyclist in his 60s has been taken to Frimley Park Hospital by air ambulance with facial injuries after a collision in Pirbright this morning.

Surrey Police is appealing for witneses after the driver of the white van involved in the accident failed to stop at the scene.

Police were called to the scene on Gole Road near Dawney Hill at around 7am, the road was closed but has now been reopened.

Sergeant Adam Dedman, from Surrey Roads Police Unit, said, “This incident happened at a very busy time of the morning and I am urging anybody who witnessed the collision, events prior to the collision or after the collision to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”

A road closure was in place on Gole Road at the junction to Guildford/Woking Road but this has since been lifted.
