Free Workshop | Protect Your Students on Social Media
A free half-day CPD (Continuing Professional Development) course for teachers, school staff, governors or youth workers/adults responsible for under-18s. This course covers the basics of the laws teachers need to be aware of concerning youth usage of social media, the Internet and digital communications.
Taught by an accredited journalist, the training will give an overview of the key legal and ethics issues surrounding youth misuse of online and social media, equipping teachers to better advise students (and parents) on issues which may arise within their school or class.
You will learn about:
· Sexting (Indecent/explicit images of children and young people) and the law
· Cyber-bulling/Trolling (offensive, malicious, threatening or abusive content as well as 'Hate-Speech')
· Contempt of Court
· Privacy laws
· Copyright and Intellectual Property
· How to protect young people's reputations (digital footprint, employment issues, etc.)
Attendants will also be given an educational resource pack to take away with them and a certificate of attendance for their Continuing Professional Development.

Join our free workshops for local charities and community groups. Sponsored by your local borough council and delivered by the Media professional team at Eagle Radio, this two-hour seminar is open to professional marketers and volunteers.
This is an interactive workshop so please bring along an idea for a news release or details of a forthcoming event or promotion you are planning for. During the session, you will get to see examples of good and not-so good press releases; learn tips for using social media including Facebook and Twitter. We will also help you to understand what journalists want from you including an expert`s view on how to improve the chances of getting your story published.
Each delegate will receive resources to take away and also have the opportunity to meet and network with industry colleagues.
