the Douro Valley, Portugal on Schist soils which are perfect for grape growing.  The Ruby Dum is made from low yielding vines which are hand-pressed and aged for an average of three years in large 500L wooden oak barrells.  Dark red in colour with plenty of red cherry and plum notes and an almost mineral like freshness give this wine excellent depth as well as superb "drinkability".  Great as a digestif by itself, or with cheese or a dark chocolate mousse.  Perfect for Christmas!
