With the Olympic Games coming to the United Kingdom for the first time in over 60 years in 2012, it's hoped many home-grown athletes will win medals.
Surrey and North East Hampshire look set to be well represented.
We won't know exactly how many local stars will appear at the Games until the final squads are announced, but it is clear that both our counties will have a presence in London.
As we move ever closer to the Games we are meeting some of the local athletes hoping to make it, learning more about them, their sport and their ambitions.
Keep checking back for new additions.
