Rapist may have targetted Guildford
It's thought a black cab driver, who's allegedly been drugging and sexually assaulting women in London - may have struck in Guildford. Metropolitan police are working closely alongside Surrey to catch the rapist who offers girls drinks or drugs, laced with sedatives. It's believed he's visited the town regularly in the last 6 years and may have used his cab in the towns taxi ranks.

Hampshire's 101 number still popular
Over 850 calls have been made to Hampshire's non-emergency 101 number since February. Earlier this year the government withdrew funding for the service, now with a team effort between the county council and police the number will be up and running until March 2009.

Plans for Ripley Infants step forward
The expansion of Ripley Infant school's taken another step forward. It wants to become an all-through primary so kids don't get split up when they leave. At the final public meeting other schools expressed concern on the effect it would have on their pupil numbers and funding, but bosses say that would be minimal.

Wey Centre in Haslemere hosts Live and Direct.
The charts could be flooded with stars from Waverley, as the area's youth music programme is re-launching. Live and Direct has moved to The Wey Centre in Haslemere with weekly open mic nights where future bandmates can meet each other. As well as an open mic night, youngsters can also get tuition from professional musicians at an after-school club at Rodborough in Milford.

Chobham's purple heather killed of by pollution.
Chobham Common could get overrun with a type of coarse grass that would make parts of it inaccessible for its 300 thousand annual visitors. Experts say it's taking over from the purple heather because it thrives better in the highly chemical soil that's due to general pollution.
