What's the problem?

Surrey & Hampshire has the appearance of a wealthy region but there are pockets of deprivation, however they are well hidden.  There are no closed steel mines and ship building ports to remind us of the deprivation.

As a result, funding from Government for the most vulnerable is far lower than the national average and this adds to the pressure on the Third Sector.

How can Eagle Radio help?

We can help alleviate the problem by providing vital awareness completely free of charge to Charities, Community & Voluntary organisations in our region by broadcasting them to our audience of 146,000 weekly listeners.

• Charities need new donors for fundraising
• Community groups need more people to use their services
• Voluntary organisations need more volunteers
• Local businesses need greater community engagement
• Regional businesses need to "give back" to their communities whilst promoting themselves

INFORMATION FOR SPONSORS OF CHARITY, COMMUNITY AND VOLUNTARY ORGANSIATIONS

This will hopefully provide you with a better understanding how your business can help those in our Community.

So, what's it all for?

The Third Sector is vital to the vibrancy and economy of Surrey & Hampshire.  There are over 140,000 people in our broadcast area who are involved in the Third Sector, whether it is charity or an organisation aimed at helping others.  They all need to increase the awareness of what they are doing to encourage more people to get involved.  They are all suffering from the recession and this is currently having a huge knock on effect on our local economy.

What are the Charities, Community & Voluntary Organisations?

Firstly they are all local.  This is so important, as many large national charities and organisations are well supported and spend millions on awareness campaigns.  We have teamed up with all the Volunteer Centres across our broadcast area and with Surrey Community Action and as a result, we have now identified some charities and community organisations that would greatly benefit from increased awareness.  

So, how does this help our business?

Your business, whether it be local, regional or national can get involved and drastically improve the success of either a charity or a community group by sponsoring their activity on Eagle Radio.  We can supply you with a list of available Community sponsorships and try to match your business with a charity or community group where there is an obvious link.  Your business target demographics would be matched to those of a community group or charity. 

This would help you engage with your local and regional community, it would become part of your corporate social responsibility and with the power of radio, it would increase the awareness and image of your business to our 146,000 weekly listeners.

So, where do we go from here?

There are two options at this stage.  You can either ask Eagle Radio to find a Charity or Community group that you can sponsor which has a tangible link to your sector of business.  Or, you may know of a Charity or Community group that either you have supported historically or have a relationship with that you would like to be associated on air with.

INFORMATION FOR CHARITIES, VOLUNTEERING & COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS

Firstly welcome to the Eagle Radio Community Campaign and secondly this document will hopefully provide you with a better understanding of what the Campaign is designed to do and help you getting your organisation or charity on air with Eagle Radio.

So, what's it all for?

We at Eagle Radio know that awareness is something that you can never have enough of.  This may be letting more people in Surrey & Hampshire know that you are there for support and advice, it maybe to raise the awareness of volunteering opportunities, it may be to raise the awareness of some fundraising events you are holding.  Whatever it is for, we have 146,000 weekly listeners who may be just what you're looking for.

But we are a non profit making organisation, so how does it work?

This is the clever part.  Eagle Radio will allow a company or profit making organisation to sponsor your airtime.  For them, it is a chance for them to engage more with their communities, give something back to the community and to help them raise their profile.  Every time your organisation is mentioned on Eagle Radio it will have a sponsor tag at the end saying something along the lines of "......supported by XYZ Ltd, caring for our community"

So, what exactly do we get?

This largely depends upon the sponsor.  At the very least, your charity or voluntary and community organisation will receive an annual awareness campaign on 96.4 Eagle Radio.  This will consist of infomercials which will be aired around the clock to our audience.  We will make the infomercial for you once we have conducted a fact find to get all the necessary details.  The infomercial will say exactly what you want it to say, and sound exactly how you want it to sound.  

So, where do we go from here?

There are two options at this stage.  You can either ask Eagle Radio to secure a sponsor for you or if you know of a company (or individual) who has donated in the past then you can ask them directly, or put them in touch with us.  Ideally, a sponsor would be a company who has a direct link or interest in your Charity or organisation.
