“Run Emma Run”
Since I was a wee girl (about 10) I’ve always loved running after doing an athletics summer camp and eventually ran for a club in Aldershot doing races on track, road and cross country. In races I was referred to as the little girl with “flapping short blonde hair” and was lucky enough to represent Hampshire and also compete in national races.
After a ‘break’ in running over a few years and a dip in motivation, I've recently dusted off my trainers and kit to get back into running and get the buzz back!
Training on your own in the winter when it's cold/dark/raining doesn’t always seem like a great idea when the warmth inside seems like a better option!
I
n 2009 I joined Farnham Runners, a local running club of all ages and abilities and I’ve really noticed how much running with other people helps plus you get to enjoy the fun and social side too! Since then I’ve got back into more regular consistent training and started doing races (cross country and road) and hopefully am becoming less of a plodder to more of a runner again!
