Air Rifle Shooting - Thu 11th Mar 2010

St john's Ambulance Hawley Lane Activity Centre are running an Air Rifle Taster session. Shooting on our six yard indoor range under the watch of an NSRA Instructor. All equipment and insurance included in the £4.00 per person fee. It starts at 7pm to 8pm. Places must be booked in advance.

: Haiti Charity Event at Guildford College - Thu 11th Mar 2010

NVQ Level 2 Food Preparation Students at Guildford College are running a Charity Lunch and Dinner in Park Room Restaurant on Thursday 11th March.
There will be an evening auction and raffle, with proceeds going towards the Haiti Disaster fund.The Caribbean Lunch is £8.95 (including coffee) from 12 noon to 1:30pm. The

The Surrey Apprentice - Fri 26th Feb 2010 to Fri 28th May 2010

The Surrey Apprentice challenge has been launched by the Surrey Association for the Visually Impaired (SAVI).
Based on the BBC Show, the Surrey Apprentice is open to all schools in Surrey to provide students with the exciting challenge to make their investment grow.
With a top prize up for grabs of a unique day out with one of the country’s top businessmen.
The competition will be judged by Apprentice finalist, Debra Barr and other leading business representatives.
The winners will be whisked off in a chauffeur driven car to dine at a top class West End restaurant with UK Entrepreneur of the year Glen Manchester.

Each team will need a start-up kitty of between £10 and £100, must be between the ages of 16 and 19 and be able to produce a detailed portfolio of how they achieved their results in written or audio format. The competition will run from 26 February to
28 May. The first ten teams to register will receive paintballing vouchers for a team of up to 10.

Tours of the Spike Heritage Centre - Sat 9th Jan 2010 to Fri 31st Dec 2010

The Spike Heritage Centre are hosting tours of the original Casual Ward, on the site of the former Guildford Workhouse.
The Spike has been sympathetically restored and now offers an opportunity to explore the lives of the inmates and to experience one of the few remaining buildings with stone breaking cells.
For small groups and individuals they are open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
Schools and larger groups are welcome at other times by arrangement.
Evening tours are recommended.
Entry is £3.50 for adults, £2.50 for children and concessions.

Ladies Pamper Night - Fri 12th Mar 2010

Woodlark Walk - Sat 13th Mar 2010

From 9am to 11.30am, Surrey Wildlife Trust Ranger Fiona Haynes is leading a leisurely walk across Elstead and Royal Commons looking for birds such as woodlarks and dartford warblers. Dogs are welcome on leads. Bring a picnic and binoculars.
