Paul Marcus

Managing Director

Passionate about music and radio, Paul was appointed Managing Director at his local radio station in October 2007.

Educated locally at Hall Grove in Bagshot before moving onto Ravenscote and then Tomlinscote School in Frimley, Paul currently lives near Camberley and is married to Kate. They have two children (Holly & Rebecca) and two cats (Tinkerbell & Gizmo) who were both adopted from the RSPCA in Chobham (The cats not the children!!)

In 2008 Paul established the Eagle Radio Charity Trust which supports small charities and non-profit making organisations in Surrey and Hampshire.

In his spare time, Paul follows the fortunes of Aldershot town football club where he is also a Trustee of the Club's Community Scheme.

Peter Gordon

Programme Director

Clocking up over 20 years in radio, PG started out as station director of his University station in the late 80s which included a stint with the BBC. After moving to commercial radio (originally as a sport and news journalist) he was part of the launch team of Eagle Radio in 1996 (and has presented breakfast ever since), eventually becoming Programming Director. Peter is now responsible for the output of both Eagle Radio and County Sound. He is also Deputy Group Programme Director for UKRD (Eagle/County's parent company) which runs stations throughout the UK.

Anthony Zahra

Anthony Zahra is head of news at Eagle Radio, and had the following to say about reporting on the stories that matter in Surrey & Hampshire:

James Posner

Head of Corporate, Community & Education

James started his radio career 6 years ago at a small coastal radio station in Somerset.  After a year or so he wanted to develop his interests and career at a larger radio station and moved internally to Eagle Radio in 2009.  James is passionate and experienced about how radio can work and impact the communities we live and work in. James is Head of Corporate, Community & Education which carries out various projects and programmes within our community.

James is a keen guitarist (note “keen”….not “good”!) is interested in music, the creative arts, local beers, winter sports and cooking.  James enjoys spending time in the countryside with his wife Samantha who is a private midwife in Chelsea and their daughter Ava, who is starting at primary school.    

Barrie Funnell

Finance Manager

Barrie got involved in Eagle Radio in 1997 and has been unable to shake off the love of local radio since. He was born in Camberley and educated at Pine Ridge, Cordwalles and Collingwood before entering the big world of work.  Barrie is a Trustee of Eagle Radio Trust and also is heavily involved with coaching both football and cricket to the younger generation in Surrey Heath.Has a very responsible job in keeping both Paul Marcus and Peter Gordon in check...
