BB x Posted by Breakfast Bev at 11:37am Tuesday 15th May15th May 2012 Well we went a bit showbiz this morning... well at least PG did. He was mingling with the stars of the radio world at last nights Sony Awards to celebrate our nomination in the 'best campaign' category. The awards took place at the Grovesnor Hotel on Park Lane in London and with heaps of celebs there, this morning we heard from Gary Barlow, Jessie J, and here's what Paloma Faith had to say about hearing her songs played on the radio... Anthony (the legend of) Zahra joined PG and the Eagle gang, and here they are, living it up!
Now this morning we were asking about your phobias and boy did we have some wierd ones... Helen Etherton text in to say hers was swimming pool drains 'urgh makes me shudder just thinking about them. can't go near them' Ashley Elford said, Green Jelly.Greeeeeeen jelly. OoOooOooh Nicki Edmonds text 'I hate the sound of people brushing their teeth. Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Luckily brushing my own doesn't affect me' oh and bizzarly quite a few people have a fear of bananas!!! We also had a big winner this morning on our Mystery Voice. John from Guildford correctly guessed that the voice was Rachel Riley from TV's countdown. Have a listen here did you know who it was? John won himself a fab prize pack that included £50 cash, £50 Halfords Vouchers, a round of golf for 4, a place on a swimming crash course and much more! A brand new Mystery Voice starts tomorrow morning at 7.15am! Have a great Tuesday and catch PG and I tomorrow morning from 6am, until then... BB x
Posted by Breakfast Bev at 10:38am Monday 14th May14th May 2012 Happy Monday! Now even though the sun is shining and Monday wouldn't be Monday without a good old Monday Morning Moan! PG was moaning (no suprise) about people not accepting his rubbish?! and people spitting on the street. I must agree I hate that too. Yuck. Kevin was having a good old moan this morning about someone cutting there lawn at 8am when he wanted a lie in! Lucky you not having to get up for work Kevin! We had another 2 wrong guesses on our Mystery Voice competition. It is not Emily Blunt or Susan Blakeslee. Have a listen to this If you think you know who it is, give us a call tomorrow at 7.15am and you could be winning our prize pack worth about £700 :) Today was also the start of exams. Sats and GCSE's began this morning so best of luck to you if you have exams and don't forget, if you would like a good luck message read out on the breakfast show do get in touch here Jerry from Liss scored 4 out of 10 on this morning's £1000 minute. You can play along here to see if you could have done any better and then play for the £1000 tomorrow morning at 8.15am. We are also asking you to get in touch with us and let us know what you think of the music we play, the kinds of prizes you would like to be winning, and what you would like to hear more of. It won't take very long and you really could be helping us create your perfect radio station. Take part in Eagle Radio's soundcheck here PG and I will be back for the breakfast show from 6am tomorrow, have a great day, until then... BB x
Posted by Breakfast Bev at 11:05am Friday 11th May11th May 2012 Did you know it's only 76 days until the Olympics starts and 227 days until Christmas! Oh and tomorrow sees the Britains Got Talent Final, and we are supporting a beauty therapist from Yateley who is just one step away from performing in front of the Queen! 22-year-old Emily Kuhl is one quarter of the synchronised swimming group Aquabatique. They made it to the finals of Britain’s Got Talent last night with their acrobatic underwater act. Emily told Eagle it would be great if they were be able to perform for her Majesty: "You can't even imagine what that would feel like". Good luck tomorrow Emily! This morning we also played another round of our Friday Morning Movie competition Certificate PG. PG, Anthony the Legend of Zahra (who gets married in just 3 weeks!) Adam the Morris dancer (who today taught us the 'lift flap leg up' dance) and myself, acted out a scene from a movie that Sarah from Ash Vale correctly guessed was Groundhog Day, was Groundhog Day... She won herself a pair of tickets to see Sweeney Todd starring Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton at London's Adelphi Theatre. We also played another round of the £1000 minute but Matt from Guildford only managed to score himslef 2 out of 10! Play along online here and see if you could do any better. You can play for the cash on Monday morning at 8.15am. In the meantime, have a great weekend, lets hope the rain stays away, and join PG and I on Monday morning from 6am, until then... BB x Posted by Breakfast Bev at 9:50am Thursday 10th May10th May 2012 So what actually makes a man Mr Perfect? Well according to a survey in a newspaper today there are 30 boxes a man must tick to be a modern day Prince Charming. In case you missed it on this morning's breakfast show, here is the checklist...
Well, PG rings his mum regularly I guess so that's 1 out of 30! How did you get on? Are you in a realtionship with the perfect chap or are you yourself the modern Prince Charming? We had our first decent score in quite a while on this mornings £1000 minute. Richard from Woking managed an 8 out of 10. You can play along with this mornings questions here and then go for the £1000 tomorrow morning at 8.15am. Of course tomorrow being a Friday (oh how much do we love 4 day weeks!!!) also sees the breakfast show 'am dram' team come together for a spot of Morris dancing and to act out a scene from a movie. If you can guess the film that it's from then you could be off to Londons Westend to see Sweeny Todd! That's tomorrow morning at 7.45. Enjoy your day and PG and I will be back tomorrow from 6am, until then... BB x Posted by Breakfast Bev at 10:20am |
