Blogs > Wes Venn's Backstage Pass > March 2012 March 2012We only went and Won it !!26th March 2012 So it’s been a big month on a couple of fronts
Eagle, as part of the UKRD group, were invited to the final of the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies night. PG decided to go as a bond Villain’s Henchman, …
….and we only went and won it, Best Midsized Company To Work For, for the second year running.
It turned PG a bit evil.
To celebrate we made our MD Mr Paul Marcus feel special by plastering the office with special pictures of his handsome face.
As I type this I still have my treasured “Paul Pic” staring away at me.
Also in March I went and turned 34.
I received this card from my godson, George (3), who when it was pointed out that "Wes isn’t 1" George simply replied "Yes, but it's Mickey", Love him.
I also received loads of Cake which I shared with the office, all except PG who wasn’t allowed any because of his Dukan Diet, instead he got to eat some scrummy brussel sprouts, MMM, Yummy.
I also got to meet a hero of mine. Kerry Dixon - Chelsea and Luton Town legend. Kerry was kind enough to attend a charity dinner to raise money for the Eagle Radio Trust.
The dinner raised £2,500, which will be distributed by the Trust to some great causes in Surrey and Hampshire. Well done to the organisers top left, Barrie, Paul (Kerry) and Gordon. Whilst we talk about special guests they don’t come much bigger than this.
Bev's Dad came in for the Breakfast show, PG in a Geordie Sandwich. There has also been a crime committed at Eagle Towers. Biscuit thievery, two full packets were destroyed by a mystery assailant, this is all that was left from the crime scene.
I think they were rubbing it in, one biscuit in each. Other crimes committed were PG receiving an award for doing ....urm ... well.. nothing
All he did was start a race for Surrey Police and they gave him an award, can you say sympathy vote. Well that’s the lot for March Have a cracking Easter (pun intended) and I will catch you in April.
