Merry Christmas, friends... Everyone knows that the last working week before Christmas can start getting a bit silly around the office. Here at Eagle Towers, our week started silly as Barry and Paul from finance donned their Secret Santa spoils (the hats, by the way) and refused to take them off for the entire day...
The Eagle Radio Christmas Toy Appeal was a roaring success, with over 4,000 toys donated across Surrey and Hampshire. Every silver lining has a cloud, though - this week in Guildford, we saw the first Surrey's first bear attack in over a decade as Katy Butler from Radio Rocks was pinned by what looked like a friendly, fluffy toy...
Salvation from the wild bear came in the form of a domestic pat, as Elizabeth from Eagle Radio News brought her lovely little dog Lola in to present the drivetime show. I showed her the ropes in the studio. Can you tell which one is me?
As the week drew to a close, we invited all of our Eagle Radio friends and family, including The Love Crew, into the office for a 1970s style Christmas Party, complete with cheese and pineapple, served on a pineapple... I bet you'd forgotten anyone ever did this, hadn't you?
Unable to stay until the end of the party (the best bit), Katy made the most of the pockets she thought she'd never use, and turned herself into a walking, talking mobile buffet, complete with dip.
With dinner over, it was time for some post-dessert entertainment in the form of Granny Racing!
Adam Morris used skills acquired during his mis-spent youth, and piloted Granny Daisy to an easy victory.
With the festive break getting closer, Bev and Kim got all togged up in their favourite party outfits, not realising that it isn't only fashion that moves on, it's also the date...
Have a fantastic Christmas and a VERY Happy New Year with the very best wishes from all the team here at Eagle Radio. Here's to 2012!
